Clearly my video wasn't selected, and there were better videos. I just don't feel that the criteria was utilized as it was meant to be used to determine the winners. From what I saw, the actual criteria was video editing and then pretty colors and clarity to fill the spaces. Video editing was 75%, clarity of picture and pretty colors 20%, and content/theme closer to 5% of the score. I was shocked when I saw the top ten, because I checked the website and watched the videos regularly and honestly didn't see some of them as even close to competition, but I'm sure that I am bias toward my child and will discontinue posting on this site and move on.

You had to read what they were judging on. They were not just judging on the ability to do the potty dance because frankly if your child can do the potty dance exact as its designed they should be potty trained already. // They were judging on how you incorporate the dance into a creative video that invoves the potty. // Editing software and sets are kind of a must when it comes to creativity. Anyone can whip out the cell phone and record their kid doing a dance.

Agree! Agree! Agree! To MMARKER. Before I read your comment I was thinking how my soon to be 2 year old grandson would cry out of fear if I were to show him this dance because of the music and the deep voice singing the song. HooRay for the brave ones who speak up for what is good and pleasant for our little ones.

Thank you so much!!!! My daughter and grandson live with us and we are all disgusted by this commercial. You preach to children not to hold themselves or squirm around. This commercial is distasteful and I just don't know what they were thinking. Why would they encourage children to act this way and have adults doing the same thing...just completely unacceptable. I think they could have come up with something a little more encouraging than a potty dance

To be honest,
I absolutely love the potty dance and was excited about the competition too until the top ten videos were selected. Talent had nothing to do with anything in this competition. The potty dance had nothing to do with it. What determined the top ten was visual appeal and not quality of performance. I don't want to individually criticize the videos that were selected. Some were good. But I am EXTREMELY disappointed that my son's video did not make it into the running when compared with some of the others. My son did one of the best potty dances. What I lacked was a pink back ground or a sheet hanging up somewhere. Some of the potty dances nominated contained no potty dance and in one particular video, half of the video was wasted on mom setting up the camera. OK. I'll stop now, because I'm very upset, but my son's video deserved to be in the running, and if I knew all that it took was a sheet and some text for the intro I would have composed the video differently. When I read the three judging categories, I saw nothing about editing software.

Potty Dance

I have seen these "Potty Dance" commercials on TV in between my daughter's shows that she watches on the Sprout Channel ; let me start off by first saying that these commercials are absurd! I do not think that there needs to be some ridiculous song with children, and adults dancing around with some guy dressed up like a "wannabe rapper" singing you shake it around and do the hula hoop? Did I get the words correct? Well regardless if I did, it still is about the STUPIDEST thing I have ever seen! I think that you people in advertising could have come up with something MUCH better than what you have now! Go back to the drawing board, please!
