Talk to the daycare about what they do for potty training. They are more than likely to help you since they have her most of the day. On the other hand, when she is at home take her to the store and let her pick out some panties. Then let her try them on over her diaper. Take her to the bathroom EVERY time you go to the bathroom and let or make her sit on her potty like you do. Then show her how to wipe and wash her hands. If this does not work, there is an Elmo video called "Elmo's Potty Time" that I bought at Toys R Us and my kids love it. It is very educational for both the parent and child. My daughter was slightly interested in the potty but not all that interested so I bought this movie for her and she started to ask about going to the potty like elmo. Hope this helps.

My daughter is about to turn 2 and she doesn't even seem interested in going potty. I have a potty seat and whatnot but I just can't seem to get her interested in the slightest bit. She doesn't even seem phased by it when she poops in her diaper or potties in it for that matter. She just does and and doesn't think twice. How can I get her to start WANTING to tell me she has to go or getting her interested in the bathroom besides for bath time. I can't take her potty every 30 minutes because I'm at work and I doubt the daycare is willing to do that so I stuck between a rock and a non-used potty!

Hi there! I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 1 year old, both boys. We just started potty training our oldest. We bought him a potty seat that sits on top of the toilet and got him a sticker chart. He really LOVES to wash his hands so we got him some "special" hand soap and he knows that if he goes potty, that he gets to put a sticker on his potty chart and he gets to wash his hands with the "special soap." We also found out that it works a lot better if you just take him to the potty every 30 min rather than asking him if he needs to go potty. Sometimes he sits there and doesn't go, and that's okay, but other times he does go and we make a big deal out of it. You just have to make sure that you and the daycare provider are both on the same page. He is getting the hang of it, so we are pretty happy. Good luck and hang in there.

This is my first kid, and I been reading alot of information, and watching videos. Nothing is helping me with getting started with my son. I was wondering if anybody could give me some advice on this.
