Hi Jeannie:

My son just turned 3 and he is starting to do number 1 in the potty. What worked for me was to leave him without a diaper. I use regular underpants. He began to let me know that he had to use the bathroom and we would go together. We have been at it for about 3 weeks and he hasn't had an accident yet. (hooray!!)

With your two sons (that picture is too cute), I think you should focus on you older child first. Once you have him potty trained, the younger one will probably want to be like his big brother and follow suit. Remember to continually praise him and reward him when he does go potty. Don't be too rough on him when he has an accident, just let him know that its ok. And also realize that some children will learn to use the potty when they are ready so if you find yourself pushing him to go, he is probably not ready. Trust me, he will let you know when he is ready :)

Try your best to not let your marital problems affect your children. I wish you a lot of luck in your marriage.

NEED HELP

fun with babu and shosho 004.JPGI have two sons. One is 2 1/2 the other is 1 1/2. I am scared to try and start potty training because I'm afriad my oldest will want to wear diapers because his brother still is. He still wakes up with semi-wet diapers, which I hear is an indication that a child is not ready. Our life is also pretty unpredictable as my marriage is very unstable. I'm afraid this will also affect his potty training. If anyone could give me some pointers and advice, I would be very grateful!!!
