At this age, potty training can become a power struggle because toileting is one of the few things that a young child can control in their life. Try not to talk about potty training for a few weeks and then slowly start again and try to follow her cues. Forgetting about it for a few weeks may take some of the pressure off of the situation. Also, try giving her a choice such as "Would you like to go on the big potty or the potty chair?" or "Would you like to sit on the potty before or after breakfast?" so she can take part in the decisions.

When you restart, also talk to your child about other kids who already use the bathroom. Having positive peer pressure from friends or day care classmates can often help, but so can time.
