Re: 3 yr old potty training

Hi! My son is 38 Months old, and we just started to potty train last week, he was doing really good till he went to grandmas house, and she didn't put him on the potty one single time when he was with her, I was so aggravated because we are actively trying at home to get him potty trained, he will go on the potty when I put him there, but he wants to go on the floor, I guess that is my fault, because I let him run around naked, this week has been really successful, he has really got the hang of when I ask him let's go potty, he will come over to his potty chair, and go ( I have learned a little trick with him thought I put in a DVD and let him watch that while he sits there, but the minute he gets up, he has this sudden urge that he wants to pee on the floor, how do I get grandma to work with him also? He is going to preschool in September I am afraid that if he is not potty trained that he won't be able to go. I need some advice PLEASE HELP ME KIM

3 yr old potty training

My situation is the same as angie27. My son will be turning 3 this August and I'm still having a hard time potty training him. His wearing pull ups and most of the time, he will just pee on it or sometimes he's going to pull it down, then just pee on the carpet. Whenever I'm bringing him to potty, he doesn't go. When it comes to pooping, he's not telling me or signaling me that he needs to go but I can tell from his facial reaction and gestures that he wants to poop so that's the time that we're gonna run to the potty. I've been watching the potty project videos and I can see some of them has the same situation as my son EXCEPT my son doesn't talk straight yet ( I guess that doubles the difficultness of potty training...am I right?) Please help me, any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!
