My son, now 2 1/2 starting using the potty at 14 months, but he went back and forth from the potty to in his diaper, so i gave it a break and waited. What was different though is that he learned how to poop in the potty before going pee. Now at 21/2 he is finaly in pull ups and if he goes a day without wetting in his pull up he gets to wear his real underwear the next day. So i think its all a matter or time. My friends son is now 4 and still isnt completely trained but he gets a treat if he goes poo on the potty. Don't worry your daughter will come around soon. Just remember if you stress about it, so will she, and that may set her back more! good luck

I agree with Queen. It will happen when it's the right time. My son was late 2's before he was interested. I tried when he was around 2 1/2 and it just wasn't working. We were both getting very frustrated - so I let it go. Low and behold, a few months later he started asking to go pee. Of course we lavished him with praise - and he did well. The poop was a different story. He continued to go in his pullup and just wasn't interested in going "on" the potty. It had been about two weeks with this when I was in the grocery store. We were in the checkout line and he wanted some candy. Now, we are not at all in the habit of just giving him candy. I was just about to say "no" when a light bulb went on. I told him, that I would buy a small package of M&M's and that he could have ONE everytime he went to the bathroom . I told him that he still had to go peepee, but that he was only going to get a single M&M is he did his poop in the tolilet. He agreed and when we went out to the car I gave him one single M&M to let him know how it tasted. ThenI told him he would get no more until he pooped in the potty. It was a matter of two or three days before he was accident free and it only took the smallest bag of M&M's that you could get. After the bag was gone, I told him that I forgot to buy more and that was it. He forgot all about the M&M's and was potty trained - daytime. He still has issues at night - pee, from time to time, but that is for an entirely different reason.
My wife didn't think it was right to bribe him, but after he was trained she was happy. For the record... we do not always use bribes to enforce discipline. My thoughts were - if it doesn't work, we'll try something different. Fortunately for us, it worked.

Don't worry! She will potty train! It is totally normal! I promise! My eldest, who is 16 took until she was three and we just started using Pull Ups and underwear. It did help for her to see other children at daycare using the toilet, and she finally got it. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink. Same thing here. The more you push your child to become "trained" the more your child will resist the idea and the more frustrated you will become. Just relax and remember that child will potty train on their own time table. If you are truly concerned talk to your pediatrician about any concerns. Ok, so if she is still wearing Pull ups when she goes to take her driving test, that may be a problem! Keep a sense of humor. :)

HI, I think I am in the same boat. OUr daughter is 30 months and we just came off of 3 day potty training which was horrible. Broke all of our hearts and we quit on day 2. We bought pull ups today and are trying those, and trying to get her to still sit on potty. She hasn' stayed dry for more than 2 hours either. maybe we can at least motivate each other=) Good luck

27 month old not showing any signs

I have a 27 month old daughter who is not showing any signs of potty training readiness. She doesn't stay dry for 2 hours, she wakes up from naps wet, she shows no interest in using the potty, and doesn't give a hoot if her diaper is wet or dirty. Is this normal for her age?
