I think the enouragement and rewards are a great way to start. I've always found it best to follow your child's lead. I think they know when they are ready. You really can't force it because in the end they decide if they go or not right? Have you watched the video yet? There's some great information in it and maybe you two could watch it together!
Good luck and keep us updated!

My daughter will be 2 on April 23rd. She has been inconsistently pottying since before Christmas. Now she tells us now when she pees and when she poops. She pees in the potty and poops in the potty. We have tried the reward basket and it seems to be working better. She knows what she is doing and when she should potty, but it seems to me that sometimes she just doesn't want to take the time to go to the potty. I ordered the Potty Training DVD from pulllups to see if there is anything in there to help. Is she just not ready, am I pushing too hard? Should I just let her go when she wants to and not worry?
