I have a few ideas:
1.) Keep a diary of when she poops there might be pattern of times or even activities
2.) Check with Dr. she might have a slight milk allergies that makes poop soft
3.) She may not have nerve sensations (need to push) about pooping because it is so soft
4.) Rather then random times I know about a Potty Training Buddy talking stuffed monkey that is a timer that actually remind her when she should try, making it a habit not just random

If she just doesn't want to go when her favorite show is on or if you find she goes poop about the same time each day put a potty chair in front of the TV then slowly move it away towards the bathroom.

I found some really cute portable potty chairs at PottyTraining2Bedwetting.com and even found one that is like an activity set to keep her happy while she waits for everything to come out.

Hello again, my daughter is now 4. We are still faced with the same problem. This past weekend my 4 yr old daughter went through 22 pairs of underwear. I was taking here every 30 mins making her sit for 5 mins. When that didn't work, I went every 15 mins for 4 hours and made her sit for 5 mins. Each time she still poop in her under afterwards. She gets excited when she actually makes it to the potty. I have tried every reward imaginable. We did away with the pull-ups to try and get her to realize how uncomfortable it is to go in her underwear. She doesn't wet the bed that much. She says she doesn't know why she is going in her underwear or she was playing or watching tv. She will use the toilet if she has to go number 1 but will hide when she has to go number2. She isn't afraid and enjoys flushing the toilet when she is done using it. She very rarely has solid bm's, it seems like pastey smears. I am not sure if that has something to do with it. I am frustrated and in tears most of the time because of pure frustration, we need help. Please any ideas or input would be great. Thank you
