My son is 21/2 also and was scared of the big potty at first also, so I bought him one of the inserts that fit on the big potty that had handles on it so he had some thing to hold on to and I put a small stool in front so it wouldn't be so high up and now he is doing great and even is able to get up on the toilet with out my help.

My 2 1/2 year old was doing well at potty training. She would pee in the baby potty and poop in the baby potty. But now she will not go. She won't even use the big potty with the potty seat on it. She is terrified of the big potty. My advice to you is to have patience. He will start to poop in the potty eventually. Just keep asking him if he needs to poop in the potty. Let him sit there a while until he goes in the potty.

Hi pricehouse. My three year old was intimidated by the toilet and I did not want that to cause fear about the experience so I put his potty seat onto the toilet and his step stool right in front, it is detachable and he will sit on that and pee. It stays on all day. I also purchased the portable toilet seats to take with us for the Mall, Movies etc. They are not expensive at all and the come in differant characters. We know that he learning so we accomadate his comfort first. At the same time I am trying to figure out how to get him to poop on the toilet instead he waits, patiently, until the Pull up is back on him to go. Any advice.

My daughter who is 2 1/2 years old is potty training. I am having problems because she only tells me that she needs to go potty after she has used it in her pull up. I have rewarded her every time that she goes potty. She will only use her potty chair and not the big potty. When we go somewhere, she will not potty at all because it is a big potty. What should I do?
