I have a two year-old who will be three in Feb. He is complete with the training. What I did was, I purchased Elmo's potty training movie for him to see his then favorite character use the potty. I had the pull-up undies problem at the start, but I out smarted him by buying his favorite characters that would be on the undies. Then I constantly praised him when he went to the potty and I kept telling him that the undies is what " Big Boys like Elmo and Caillou wear" He loved them since, he now says that pull ups are for babies!!!! Patience is the key but keep encouraging and rewarding him, ask him if he wants to be a big boy and see what he says. It may take some tantrums but he will do it and then he will not stop. My son is wearing undies to sleep every night, one accident, the first night but now there is no stopping!!! Boys are very independent and he will come around, they say not to push but I choose to be the Parent during this ordeal and not let him get his way( as he always do) It will work out good luck!!!;)

My Son doesn't want to wear big boy underwear...now what?

My Son will be 3 next month. We've been actively potty training for a month now and he's been doing really well. He hasn't pooped in his pants in 2 weeks and he wakes up from nap dry about 70% of the time. The problem seems to be pee. I think the pull ups are so absorbent that he doesn't "feel" when he's wet because when we go to the bathroom, he says "I'm dry" even when he's not. We made the big to do about the switch to big boy underwear and he seemed excited. I figured, he needed to "feel" the wet to make the connection. Well, after about 3 days of pee accidents he doesn't want to wear the underwear anymore and is insisting on wearing pull ups. All of my friends say their kids were trained in a week or two so of course, I feel like I'm failing at this. Anyone else having a challenge with pee instead of poop?
