It sounds like to me that your son maybe ready. But I don't think that you should put him back into diapers cause that may confuse him and will probably think that it may be ok to do his business in them again. I know that there were a couple of time where I have put my daughter in regular cotton panties that she made an accident and I put her right back in her pull-ups. She has been potty training for over a year and I want her to go into preschool school and she is also going to be turning three I this weekend.
I now just started to put her back into those panites and was telling myself that we have to keep trying and trying and to never give up. I put them on yesterday and so far she has had no accidents. I only put her Pull-Ups on at night/nap and when she woke up she was dry. I was proud of her and she was very proud of herself. I told her the more dry she gets the more rewards she'll have to reach her goal to watch the new Ice Age movie.
So I think that you should be more persistant and keep yourself motivated and your son will be dry in his pants.

Getting ready for preschool

Hi,
My 3 year old is pretty much potty trained at home but that's with no clothes on the bottom. When he wears pants, he sometimes forgets and wets himself. If he has no pants on, he's great at knowing he has to go - even in the middle of playing, he will on his own get up and go to the potty when he feels the urge. So that sounds like he's ready, right? But he still asks for diapers often. Do I just go cold turkey on the diapers now? Frankly, the only reason I care is that he starts preschool in a month, and he has to be potty trained. He also has to be able to nap without wetting himself, which we haven't even tried yet! Any tips will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
