Daughter lost interest in potty training

Aug 23, 2009 6:57 AM
Hello,
I'm a mother to 2 kids. A 4 year old girl (August 11th turned 4)and a 1and a half year old son. This past year my daughter was doing great at potty training. She is still a bed wetter though but making great progress at daytime training. Then my son was born and things have gone downhill ever since. My daughter started having more and more daytime accidents. They are only pee accidents but it seems like she has lost any motivation or interset in keeping dry during the day. She doesn't mind wearing Pull Ups at all and is not "embarrassed" or "ashamed" to wear and wet them. When Me or mu husband ask her if she needs to go potty, she'll always say "No" but then mention that she has wet her Pull Ups after an accident. My husband thinks it might be related to our son still wearing diapers even though my daughter does not like wearing diapers, only Pull Ups but at times she be put into a diaper and she has fits about it but she'll still "use" them whenever neccesary. One thing is she will NEVER have a bowel movement in them, Pull Ups or diapers during the daytime.
Has anyone got any advice for a problem like this? Is this a jealousy or attention getting regression with her? She says it isn't and claims to be unable to avoid wetting herself. She has been checked out by her pediatrician who cannot find anything causing it or anything out of the normal. She says it just might be a phase but nothing helps to snap my daughter out of it. Any advice would be helpful.

Thank you,
Lisa
