I also have a 2 year old daughter and she has not slept in her bed in over a year. My husband and I are SO fed up with that. two nights ago, we laid her down in her bed and I laid in the same room on a different bed (you could lay on the floor), reading a book. Everytime she got up, I would just tell her to lay back down, sometimes I would have to go over and 'help' her lay down. around 1am l went to sleep in my own bed and it was past 5 in the morning when she finally came in our room. Last night, she fell asleep quicker and stayed asleep longer but she still got up a few times, and again, she ended up in our bed..... I hope tonight goes even better! ! ! ! !
This is what my experience is...I hope it helps! if my 2 year old does not take a nap, she is horrible from 5pm-9pm and it is really hard to get her to sleep at night. and yes, she will still wake up in the night too! ! when she takes a nap, she behaves better in the evening hours and MOST of the time, she only takes an hour to fall asleep.

How canI get my 2 year daughter sleeping all night long? I never she never nap during the daytime. I don't have no tv in her room and put music and she always walking the hallway and I put back in the crib to .
