polymer gels (sodium polyacrylate) from Pull-Ups

I've always used Pampers on my baby, but I was "forced" to switch to Huggies for potty training because I couldn't find the Easy Ups in nearby local grocery stores. I am disappointed with these Pull Up diapers. First, my son doesn't seem to mind if he's wet or not. The Cool Alert does not make any difference than having him wear regular diapers, and it costs more to use them. Second, he pees a lot and when he does, the diaper seems to disintegrate and leaves a mess of polymer gel substance (sodium polyacrylate from inside the diaper) all over his penis. It is very hard to get rid of these gels (which look like tiny white round lint) and I often have to wash him under running water to remove these annoying diaper residue. I never had this problem with Pampers. I believe there has also been some health concern about having these substances against human skin. I think Huggies needs to make the sheet/cover in contact with the baby's skin much stronger to prevent these polymer substance from leaking out.
