Yes... my son IS 3 and we are still potty training. Finishing up I'd say. But yes I put him in big boy underwear, thats what really got him going on the potty. A pull-up was like a diaper to him before also. Now I tell him they are big boy night time underwear and he's been doing GREAT. he only wears them at night. Good Luck! He'll get there when he's ready.

That is my daughter. I let her run around naked, I put her in a long t-shirt or dress to hide her areas. If I put a pull-up on her she pees in it thinking that it is a diaper. She always asks to go potty without it on but not with it on. When she wears underwear she reminds me she has to go and then takes the underwear completely off before peeing in the potty. I am not going to night time train until she can stay dry at night though.

Hi there

I have been working with my son for a couple weeks now. I feel the training process has been going good but i have had a few problems. My son will only use the potty when he has no pants or pull up on. As soon as he has a pull up or under wear on he will continue going in his pants. Just yesterday he ran to the toilet himself and got up and peed but forgot to pull his pants down. So i guess he just has to connect the two together. I am finding the only thing that is working is putting him in big boy underwear at home because this is the only way he feels the pee. If i put a pull up on him he will just continue going in his pants because it is just a diaper to him. I waited quite a few weeks but he did have his first bowel movement on the potty which was awesome but only because he only had a t shirt on. Does anyone else experience problems with children who will only use the toilet if they have nothing on there lower half??
