I have 5 kids in all.

DS 13-- Trained himself at a week before he was 3. I did a no/no and gave up. We had been trying to encourage him to potty train starting at 2. he did great till his first accident. Then he gave up. I was pg and due 3 weeks after his birthday and figured he would regress when his sister was born. So I got diapers. 10 minutes after I put on the diaper he took it off and used the potty and never had one accident. So I really think he just needed to be in control.

DD 10-- She trained herself at 18 months. She would get in her brother's drawer to put on his underwear. She wanted underwear so I got some and she never had an issue. All I did was get her the panties.

DD 7-- She was similar. She has sensory issues so she hated diapers. So she trained herself at about 20 months.

DD will be 2 on Halloween. We are struggling with Potty training. She started training at about 16 months. At that time she would stay dry till nap time in panties and use the potty but now she doesn't want to wear her panties. She only wants pull ups and actually says she wants diapers.

DS is only 5 months old.

My son is 16mo and is just starting. He LOVES the potty! He cries at the door when we go without him. He waits and wants to flush for you then runs to the sink to wash his hands. I figured it was worth a go.
It's been almost a week now and it was a little challenging at first getting him to sit longer than 2 seconds. He does great now! He doesn't make it every time but at least once durring the day he will really give it a go in the potty. we started out giving him stickers but when they didn't come off the chart he was upset. We have stitched to mini marshmallows now and that seems to work much better. Yea! I'm so proud of him! We have been trying to use up the last of the diapers so I'm sure it will progress much better once we make the switch to pull ups this weekend. Any advice? Cool alert? Learning designs? Has anyone had any major successes with either one? Should I let him go straight to big boy pants (plastic covers on of course) Or do it old school and let him run around the yard in the nude? What worked for you?

I have a 2 yo boy and we are in the middle stages of potty training. He is learning to pull his pants/pull ups down as he gets in the bathroom. He can pull them up also but he has a hard time pulling them up over his bottom still.

have you tried reminding your NIne year old that she is the oldest. Maybe let her start helping you with the younger kids. Changing diapers, taking to the potty, buckling the seats. My six year old loves to help with her sister (number 3) who is two and the youngest. Also do thing with her if you can that are just you and her the other can not do because they are not old enough. Try this isn the day . As far as the nights so kids wet their beds I know someone who is twelve and still wets the bed. My suggestion would be watch what she drinks after dinner (water and only a little), Make sure she uses the bathroom before going to bed, if you are up in the night get her up and make use the potty, then if she has an accident let her clean the mess up : change the sheets at least take them off, change her clothes etc. Make sure you reward her if she is staying dry at night. Start a sticker chart I would do thirty days for a nine year old when it is full (rent a movie, but her something she has been asking for ) Remind her she is setting an example for others. Do not treat her like a baby .

Before treating her like a baby, get you 9 y.o. involved in the daily care of the triplets. If she feels involved mabey she won't act like a baby. The signs your daughter are showing are classic examples of wanting attention.

Hi Mommy:
It sounds to me like you might be right w/your 9 y.o.
I think you should do the things that you talked about. But remember that babies aren't able to do a lot of things for themselves, like use the computer, change the TV channel, etc. And their TV programs are very simple too.
Just a thought. If you'd like to write, I'm at:

I have 7 kids... they are 3 weeks, 18months(triplets),3, 5,and 9.
my 18 month olds are all diapers still. i am just introducing the idea of potty trainng to them. my 3 year old is actively traing. she had oly about 4 accidents in the day a week... and she stil wets at night. i have her in pullups cool-alert, but she sometimes will take them off if she went in them, and will run around with out anything but her shirt on. any suggestions for that?! my 5 year old is potty trained during the day and night. Yet, my 9 year old has accidents still. i dont know what to do with her because she will be in the car, and we will get out and i will notice that she had a wet leg or that her front is wet she will wet no matter where we are at a resturant, at home, or anywhere! also at night she wets about 6 nights a week! i put her in pullups feel and learns but she seems not to care and will keep wetting any way. she asks me to change her and help her clean up. she is acting like a baby all the time now.she will even clmb into one of her triplet brothers or sisters cribs, or sit in their high chair or car seat. what should i do? do you think she is just jealous of the new baby getting more attention than her? im not sure what to do. should i put her in diapers again? the doctor said there is nothing wrong with her bladder or kidneys... should i play along and trat her like a baby? like give her baths, let her play in a play pen, ride in a car seat, change her diapers, sleep in a crib, ride in a car seat? i do not know what to do! please help me!!

my daughter is 2/12 and actively training. She goes all the time has an ancident once in a while during the day. But for the past 2 weeks now she has been dry at night. I started her in underwear. And she's only had once accident since i put the pullups in the closet. So no matter where we are she's in underwear. I just watch her drinks and how much she has and when it was the last time she went. I have two older boys that are 6 and 4 (going on 7 and 5) and they were both trained at 2 1/2. And i did the same with them. So i suggest underwear is the best way to go. But i did use pullups at first. They worked better with my daughter because i would ask her does she still have her "flowers" and she would like to look and see but like i said we graduated to underwear and she's doing great...just a accident if i'm busy and she's playing she will have one. But hopefully she will overcome this soon...
