we try goals. like she has to use her potty for two weeks and at the end of the two weeks she gets a movie or something. i also giove her a sticker everytime she uses her potty. my mother in law told me to take her with me to the bathroom. i've been at it for three months and there's still days we have accidents. our new goal is to get her to tell us she's gotta go. my friend told me it took her until her daughter was three to have her completely potty trained.

For me, it's a little different because I have two older children. (Ages 6, 5, and almost 2) The two year old sees her sisters going in the "big girl potty" and she wants to go. Now, for all of them, we have had the potty in the living room because of all the activity we have here. It helps. Also, remember that about 20 minutes after they have had something to eat or drink, they are more than likely ready to go. We started this one on 10 minute intervals. We'd let her sit there for 10 minutes, then let her get up. We repeated this until she went pee pee. This one is far advanced for her age, already with 6 to 7 word sentences, knows different animals, can tell you "it's not bothering you" and so on. Keep up the praise! Our 6 year old didn't completely potty train until she went to Head Start, and she was almost 4! Remember too, kids train at different ages, but keep at it.

I have been there not too long ago. It was hard to potty my daughter for the first week. It has been a month now and she is peeing and occasionally pooping on the potty. Do not quit. Please dont quit. I tried giving my daughter stickers for awards at first and it did not work too well. I had to sit her on the potty, until one day a week later she said mommy I have to go potty and she has been going on it ever since. ( I give her 2 skittles for peeing on the potty, and 5 for poop) She loves it now. Remember to praise her a whole lot when she does go in the potty. kids love praise and try rewards, they help out a lot. I hope I helped you out because I know what it is like to get frustrated and want to quit.

need advice on potty training 2 1/2 yr old daughter

Right now my daughter is 2 1/2 and i just started potty training her about 5 days ago. Some days she does really well...like only has one accendent but then the next day she won't even pee in the potty. A lot of the times she'll tell me she has to potty so i'll take her to the bathroom and she'll sit on her potty and just talk and play around but won't go. then about 10 min later she pees in her training pants. Everyday has different results. I'm just stressed out about this and was wondering if this is how it goes. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. This is my first child potty training so i'm kinda lost.
