If it helps to know you're not alone...My son is five and is still pooping in his pants 4 or 5 times per week and wets his bed every night

If your son isn't developmentally ready yet, the only thing that will help is time. It's not possible to rush him into feeling the need to pee. That said, you can practice on weekends and after school; give him plenty to drink and try taking him to the potty every hour (or more) so that he makes it to the bathroom before wetting his pants. Talk to him about how it feels when his bladder is full (lower belly feels uncomfortable or he feels like he has to hold his crotch or cross his legs) and see if he can pay more attention to the feeling. If he needs to wear Pull-ups in kindergarten, that is better than wetting his pants all day at school. But once he sees that other kids use the toilet, he may start going himself and your problem may be over soon. It may be helpful to see how things go over the first few weeks of school. If he still can't make it to the bathroom in time to pee, you can talk with your doctor again for more ideas.

Kindergarten In Pullups

I have a son who will be 6 in October and we are STILL working on the potty training. I've never had such a frustrating experience. He's pretty good about pooping in the potty but I don't think he gets the sensation to pee. I've tried taking him to the bathroom every 2 hours, put him in underwear and he still manages to pee in his pull ups or underwear. I've taken him to the doctor and they tell me not to worry because kids don't usually have full control over their bladders & bowels until age 7. What can I do? I don't want him to be the only one in kindergarten with pull ups on!
