Rarely, boys will pee sitting down because their pee does not come out straight while standing up. This can be caused by problems with the penis or urethra (hole where the pee comes out) and is something to discuss with your pediatrician if you think your son may have this issue. Most likely, though, it is more comfortable for him to pee while sitting and there's no harm in doing that (although you may want to teach him to point his penis down into the potty/toilet so it doesn't spray out). There are grown men who only pee sitting down just because they like it better, but most boys can learn to go standing up eventually (and find it to be more convenient because they don't have to take their pants off).
How old is he? Cause I have a 2yo and he wont stand up either. So when were out and dont have his potty seat we have been told to sit him backwards and it works. We did that before we got his potty seat.
What do you do when you have a boy that will only sit down? It's fine at home because of his seat but without it (the deflector) pee goes everywhere. What do you do?
