Re: bowel movement troubles!!!!

My daughter got into the routine of wearing real panties during the day and pull ups at night for about a week. Then she stayed the night at her grandparent's house and they forgot to put her back into real panties and kept changing her pull ups during the day. When I picked her up that evening, they informed me that she wasn't ready to be potty trained since she would only pee and pooh in her pull up and refused to go on the potty. Come to find out, they never put her in real panties and so she thought it was ok for her to go in the pull ups since they were like diapers anyway. Needless to say, she wears pull ups only at night and wants real panties during the day. If she wears a diaper/pull up during the day, she refuses to use the potty since the pull up is convenient. So my best advice to both situations is put her in real panties and clean up the messes she makes. If she poohs in her real panties she won't like it as much as a diaper because it is not as forgiving. I also made going to the bathroom something that is fun for her. She gets to put on her pretty pretties when she goes pooh in the potty. Her pretty pretties are lip gloss or blush that she got to buy from the store as a reward for going potty. Good luck.

My daughter also will not go poop on the potty. She will pee but not poop. Also the only time that she will go pee on the potty is if she is naked from the waist down. If we put a pull-up on her she almost always treats it like a regular diaper. She just turned 3 and I am finding this very frustrating. I'm trying the sticker chart but still the same results. She gets excited about the stickers but still no change in routine. If I even suggest she use the potty to go poop she yells "NO" and then runs to the potty to slam the lid shut. Any suggestions?

How much milk does the child get? My daughter has a problem with getting too much milk. She only gets 1 - 2 sippy cups per day of milk (equal to about 16 oz total). If she gets too much milk she is constipated for days, then when she goes it is like pebbles and very frequent. She will pooh 2-3 times a day after the 3rd day. My on on the other hand cannot have too much juice or straight juice bec he has loose bm when that happens. I have to walk a fine line as to what they can have and when. What I did for my daughter is every time she started going pooh in her pull up, I put her on the potty and we talked about what was happening. It took a couple of times for her to go in the potty and not hold it till she got a pull up back on. Once she went into big girl panties and she poohed on herself, she didn't like the felling because it was different than when she went in her pull up. That was the last time she went in her pants. Good luck and I hope this helps.

my daughter also won't go poop on the toilet! potty training is going so well with peeing but she absolutly refuses to go poop, to the extent that she will either scream bloody murder until we put a diaper on her or she will just skip going for a day or so. I don't know what to do but you are definitly not alone. um if you figure out how to get past this let me know huh? and I'll do the same

I have the same issue with my 3 year old son... and I am starting to lose my patience. We have been trying to train for a year and he has just started using the potty to pee, but slips away for "privacy" around 7 - 10 times daily leaving just trace amounts of poop in his pull-up or underpants. If I catch him in the act and put him on the potty, he will not push the poop out, but instead shakes or insists that I wipe it off.
I have tried the jelly laxative but this only gives him runny poop and doesn't help with the frequency. He has a diet rich in fibre, drinks lots of fluids, and gets plenty of exercise daily... but something has kept him constipated for the past 2 years.
I have tried rewards but this does not offer any motivation. The Pull-Ups design helped to motivate him to pee in the potty, but I am at a total loss as to how to correct this pooping issue.
We also have a 5 month old baby and some days I feel like all I am doing is wiping bottoms.
HELP!

bowel movement troubles!!!!

my daughter is 3 1/2 and we have been potty training for a year. She always has done good with peeing but #2 on the other hand has been a nightmare. She was holding it so we started her on Miralax, it's no longer hard but when she goes, she cries cuz 1st of all she HATES going poopy on the potty. she will go on rare occasion. we praise her bribe her give her prizes when this happens, we have tried it all.
Well, this may sound weird but she will start going in her pants and run to the bathroom but will not push it out. she will shake her bottom til it falls out or insists that we wipe her bottom to get it off, Will not will not push it out. She will have these little accidents 15+ times a day when its her day to go. I am keeping my patience with her on the outside but it has been driving me nuts, it's to the point where we don't leave the house on certain days. Has anyone been through this, i neep help bad!!!!! I am about to start training my 2 year old boy as well.
