My 21/2 year old will not TELL me when he has to go!

My son will be 3 next month and he wont tell me either, I take him to the potty every 30 mins, granted we've only being doing it for 5 days. Once he was outside playing with his granddaddy and I went out there to get him to in and go potty and his pants were already wet and it didn't even phase him that he peed. I have my son is underwear all day unless he is sleeping. He hasn't pooped in the potty yet. Good luck!

Hi a little advice that my aunt gave me for my chidren is take them every so often, because kids will not tell you,=) or in our case we start out early around one year old,=) it works and eventually he will get it, all kids do it, or let him know everyone has potty breaks even you, when you go say potty time and let him know that he can start playing where he left off after he goes potty, Hope this helps,=) and keep it up!!

My 21/2 year old has been in underwear during the day and pull-ups at night. He even goes to preschool in the morning with no accidents. But, he simple won't TELL the teacher's or Mommy, when he needs to GO. I remind him " Tell me if you need to go." But, he never tells. Eventually, I say, you're holding yourself and you need to go potty. With that he goes potty. Also, he always goes poop before nap and before bed, so he's in the routine of going potty before sleeping. My question is How do I get him to TELL me he has to go potty? Do I eliminate telling him to go and let him wet himself hoping that eventually he will want to tell me rather than being wet? OR Is it ok to I keep taking him and hope eventually he TELL me when he has to go?
